Between The Posts: #1 Coach skankingaround

Welcome to week 1 of our regular feature “Between the Posts”, where a different coach will be featured each week and where we will hope to uncover a bit more about the league coaches!

To kick off the new season, we’ve invited the head coach of the Tennessee Titans and PFL newcomer Coach skankingaround into the XBLN interview room for a light grilling. The London based Aussie joins us as part of the Red South division and is a welcome addition to the PFL. His first season will by no means be an easy one with tough divisional matchups against top coaches. We caught up with him for a quick chat ahead of his crunch season opener against divisional rival, Coach elrussouk and his Colts.

You had 3rd pick in the draft for this season, what made you select the Titans? 
In Madden 09 I absolutely loved the Jaguars, JONES-DREW was my main weapon! As was big Freddy Taylor, I eagerly picked up Madden 10. I jumped into 2010 looking for a team with a solid RB, that's the most important position for me, coupled with their good (I hope) defense it seemed like the right choice for me. I have also played nearly all my online games with them so this will hopefully help me. 

Your first regular season game will be against elrussouk and the Colts. How do you think you will fare?
Really looking forward to this matchup, last time we played I believe the scorecard read 21-24. I'm sure it's going to be another great game hopefully with a close score!

What do you think are your teams specific strengths and weaknesses?
My teams weakness unfortunately is the coach leading them out on the field, being a bit of a rookie myself it's going to be an interesting first season. Kerry Collins has been known to throw the way-ward pass time to time, let’s hope he has a good season. In the strengths department my obscure play calling (legal plays only!) may confuse a few other coaches, whether this is due to a simple lack of knowledge has yet to be decided.

1.Which NFL team do you support and what made you choose?
NY Jets, I also take a great interest in the Jags & now the Titans!

2.Who is your favourite NFL player, past or present?
Tough one. Ill say JONES-DREW I like watching that guy!

3.If you played American Football, what position would you play?
I’m too small for most positions so I'll have to be a zippy receiver!

4.How did you decide on your gamertag?
Used as an alias for many, many, many years....

5.How long have you been playing Madden?
Since ‘09 but hopefully will get a lot more gametime in Madden 10!

6.Who has been your most difficult Madden opponent?
Some douchebag who I met in a ranked game who went with the eagles, he was scrambling with Vick, or going to Westbrook. he was a far superior player but had a BAD attitude, was going for 2 points PATs continually, refused to accept my concede defeat, talked crap in and after the game. Oh and went for the onside kick EVERY time!

7.What was your most memorable Madden match?
There’s been so many last minute comebacks, and great come backs, I used to play with a friend from AUS once a week, they were always great matchups especially the Jaguars vs Chargers grudge matches as we called them!

8.Do you think you can win it all this season?
I will need to learn fast to beat some of the experienced veterans in the league, however I am an optimist not a pessimist therefore I believe it is possible however both team and coach will have to play like they have never played before!!

9.How have you enjoyed your time in the PFL?
It's been a fantastic community to become a part of, really happy to be here and looking forward to getting some quality games in.

10.Finally, any words for your rival coaches for this season?
Be warned although a beginner I may pull a full surprises out of the bag, don't turn up expecting a guaranteed win or you may be in for a shock surprise!!
